Iwade Village Hall 2010-
VILLAGE HALL PLANNING DECISION
Outline Planning permission was approved for the Village Hall site at the Swale Borough Council planning meeting on Thurs 29th March 2012.
Two members, not Iwade reps, spoke in favour of the application approval and both described it in terms of, ‘a very exciting prospect for the Village’. The overall voting for approval was 14 votes to Nil.
There still remains a number of matters to be resolved before a tangible scheme can be put in place.

“A VERY EXCITING PROSPECT FOR THE VILLAGE!”
Every house in Iwade received a questionnaire and the response is that Iwade is in need of a new Village Hall. The Village Hall Committee, Iwade Parish Council and Hillreed Homes are currently exploring the best way to achieve this.
Getting Outline Planning Permission for the houses on the current site will ensure the best price is achieved when selling the garden and hall site to help fund the new Village Hall. The results of the questionnaire relating to the Hall relocation have now been concluded.
Questions 1, 4 and 5 were entirely quantifiable and showed that the majority of Iwade residents were in favour of a new Village Hall.
Questions 2 and 3 related to improvements and activities that residents would wish to be included in a new Village Hall and these have been summarised.
The detailed results from the residents of Iwade to the questionnaire can be seen here from which, the course of action as described in the News section is being pursued.
